In the 2024 Christmas Trip post, we said that the weather ‘wasn’t perfect for spending time in the mountains’. It turns out that it was more perfect than the 2025 version. Two of us were determined, and headed up the somewhat diminutive peak of Allt-fawr. Most of the rest of the group went underground instead – having recognised that ‘cave golf’ was possibly a more sensible option. However, all that water did mean that there was great waterfall potential. So, after the traditional Christmas meal on the Saturday evening, a trip to Aber Falls the next day did not disappoint. Although it was slippery enough to require some First Aid action part way round.
