The 2017 Christmas trip involved a stay at Idwal Cottage Youth Hostel, murky weather and an excellent festive dinner feast (including the traditional goats in ponchos). Saturday’s walk was a slushy trudge up onto Glyder Fach, a walk along to Glyder Fawr in the snow and then the familiar descent into Cwm Idwal. On Sunday we travelled a bit further afield to find the easy scramble up onto Moel Siabod via the Daer Ddu ridge, descending in the dark before the long drive home.
